The state has turned over the licensing regulation to Ivy Tech University. The examination is divided into two parts, written and practical examination. The applicant need to obtain a satisfactory scores on both exams to be issued the license. Moreover, the appliant can only retake the exam thrice before being required to undergo another certified nursing assistant program.

It is also important that the applicant have zero criminal history and no documented allegations of abuse and neglect in case of transferring your CNA license to Indiana. However, you would be first required to take the competency examination and pass it.

The Illinois Health Care Workers Registry would only require a filled out application form that can be obtained from their website and submit electronic fingerprints for the criminal background check. If all is in order, you can check their website to see if you have been granted the certificate. Instead of being restricted to one state, an Indiana CNA license allows you to work with a broader potential patient scope without the added frill.
